The restaurant industry’s most prestigious event, the London Restaurant Awards, returns with a gala ceremony on 01 September 2008 at Grosvenor House, London.
Its return, after an absence of two years, will be celebrated with more categories for dining excellence in the capital than ever before. And for the first time ever there will also be an award for restaurants outside London. A number of categories are also open for voting through our partners, the Evening Standard and toptable.com
The 2008 London Restaurant Awards will be sponsored by aAIM, one of Europe’s fastest growing commercial property investment companies.
This year’s judging panel features some of the UK's most respected and well-known critics, including Charles Campion (Evening Standard), Giles Coren (The Times), Terry Durack (The Independent), Tracey Macleod (The Independent on Sunday), Fay Maschler (Evening Standard), Matthew Norman (The Guardian) and Jay Rayner (The Observer).
ITN’s Katie Derham will reveal the 2008 award nominees at ITV’s London Television Centre on June 10. Previous winners of the awards include the likes of Le Gavroche for Outstanding Front Of House Team, Nobu for the Award of Excellence and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay for Best Overall Restaurant.
Mark Hix, of Hix Oyster and Chop House is confirmed to produce a specially created menu for the awards ceremony that will be paired with a selection of wines from our sponsor, Jordan Wine Estate.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast on ITV London on Thursday 04 September 2008 at 23.05 (tbc), also on Sky channel 993.
